We board our overnight flight, and we're off to our exciting Italy vacation!

Flights are not included in the price of this package. Airfare is $1,650.00.

Day 2, July 13
Arrive Venice

Benvenuti a Venezia! We will be met and greeted by our Tour Manager and transferred to our 5-star hotel. After we settle in at our hotel, take a stroll through Venice. Get lost in the traffic-free streets and alleyways. There are so many wonderful things to see! Rest up before we gather for a Welcome Dinner.

Day 3, July 14
Venice City Tour

Breakfast in hotel. This morning we'll meet our expert local guide for a walking tour of St. Mark's Square, the great Byzantine Basilica, the Bridge of Sighs and an inside visit of the Doge's Palace. In the afternoon explore the city's labyrinth of canals, bridges and tiny piazzas on our own. Being a small island, it's impossible to stray very far. But it won't hurt to master the phrase, "Dove Piazza San Marco?"

Day 4, July 15
Venice to Rome

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the train station in Venice to board a high-speed train that will take us to Rome. Upon arrival we will be transferred to our 5-star hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 5, July 16
Coliseum & Ancient Rome

Breakfast in hotel. All aboard our chariot for a panoramic tour of Imperial Rome, including the Roman Forum, Largo Argentina (where Caesar was stabbed by Brutus) and the Circus Maximus. Then we'll enter the Coliseum, reliving the brutal entertainment of the gladiators and the lions, refereed by the Emperor himself.

Afternoon and evening is leisure. In the evening, enjoy a dinner on your own. Venture out and explore the lively restaurants in Rome. Be sure to try cacio e pepe - pasta in a creamy olive oil, Pecorino cheese and black pepper sauce - a specialty of Rome.

Day 6, July 17
Vatican Museums - St. Peter's Basilica

Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, it's a ten-minute drive to another country - Vatican City. Our VIP status allows us to skip the long lines in the Vatican. With our expert local guide, we'll tour the Vatical Museums, a massive collection of ancient Greek sculptures, medieval tapestries and Renaissance painting. Our visit culminates in the Sistine Chapel, renowned for its Renaissance art, especially the ceiling that was painted by Michelangelo. This room is also where the Pope is elected. Next we visit St. Peter's Basilica, by far the largest church in Christendom. Afternoon and evening is leisure.

Day 7, July 18
Day Tour to Florence

Breakfast in hotel. This morning, it's an enjoyable ride through the Tuscan countryside. Our motor coach navigates the rolling hills, scenic vineyards and postcard perfect vistas of Tuscany. We travel north to explore the Renaissance city of Dante, Boccaccio, Botticelli and Da Vinci. Upon arrival your local guide will walk you through its historic center, elegant Uffizi Square, Ponte Vechhio, the imposing Duomo and the Accademia Gallery with Michelangelo's David. Free time in Florence on your own for some excellent shopping for leather bags, shoes, and coats. We return to our hotel in Rome in the late evening.

Day 8, July 19
Rome to Sorrento

Breakfast at the hotel. Motor coach transfer to Sorrento via the Highway of the Sun. Sit back and relax on the way to the welcoming South. Upon arrival we check in at our hotel. Free time in Sorrento.

Day 9, July 20
Sorrento - Capri

Breakfast at the hotel. No holiday would be complete without a trip to the evocative Isle of Capri. Sail across the bay for the start of an unforgettable day. For such a small island, Capri has had much said, sung and written about it. Capri is a chic town with shops, hotels and restaurants along winding streets. The main square Piazza Umberto I has a pretty white church and several open-air cafes where you can sit and watch the world. Leading off the square are medieval-looking alleyways and arcades full of shops selling the handicrafts of the island, clothing, jewelry made from coral and gold, shoes and ceramics. Admire the colorful gardens of Augustus overlooking the famed Faraglioni Rocks and Marina Piccola where Gracie Fields once lived. Return to the hotel in the evening.

Day 10, July 21
Sorrento - Amalfi Coast

Breakfast in hotel. The "Amalfi Coast Drive" is said to be the most famous scenic drive in Europe. The winding cliff-top road offers breathtaking panoramic views at every bend. Each spot is a world of its own; it dazzles the imagination and inspires unforgettable impressions. Suggested stops are Amalfi, Ravello and Positano.
