Writing From the Soul:

How to Access Your Authentic Story

A Literary Seminar at Sea

April 4-11, 2015

What happens when a renowned Literary Event Planner and an Award-Winning and National Bestselling Author get together? Writing Seminars at Sea!

We are very pleased to announce this new and wonderful collaboration between Ruth Bridges of Aviva Travel Group and Award Winning and National Bestselling Novelist Margaret Johnson-Hodge. Together, they will offer magnificent cruises with featured critically-acclaimed authors conducting writing workshops on board the ships.

Ruth has been known for her top notch literary retreats given all over the world for over a decade. Margaret, who has eleven published novels, two published short stories, and was contributing author on three highly successful anthologies, has been receiving critical acclaim and recognition for just as long. Butterscotch Blues made the Essence Magazine, Black Expressions, Black Board and Mosaic Magazine's Bestsellers List and A Journey to Here was a Book of the Year Nominee.  Her novels have received movie option considerations and she was invited by Harvard University to submit a short story to their literary magazine.

The business of publishing has changed dramatically in these last few years. With the introduction of e-books, getting your story 'out there' has become much easier. If you are considering this option, why not study under some of the best in the writing business before taking that publishing leap?

Our official launch will be April of 2015 when New York Times Editors' Choice Recipient, Pulitzer Prize Nominee and National Bestselling Author Bernice L. McFadden, will be offering Writing from the Soul: How to Access Your Authentic Story.

Bernice has eight critically acclaimed novels, including Sugar, Glorious, Nowhere Is a Place, The Warmest December, and Gathering of Waters, to name a few. She has been featured in O Magazine, was a finalist for the NAACP Image Award, as well as being a three-time recipient of the Hurston/Wright Legacy Award finalist. Her novel Gathering of Waters was one of the top 100 Notable Books of 2012 and she is the recipient of three awards from the BCALA.

Bernice has given extremely successful writing seminars over the years and the participants were always highly pleased that they attended. Here is your chance to be a part of that wonderful experience!

The seminar will allow you the time and the space to focus on what you've wanted to do-write your story. The sessions are for the two days while at sea.  Feel free to bring along your significant others, family or friends. Why? Because in addition to your writing workshop, the cruise will be a wonderful vacation! There will be plenty on board to entertain them while you are working on your 'craft.' At each evening's end, everyone will be seated in the same group at dinner time. Just imagine the lively conversations and the new friends you will make!

We invite you to read all of the following information and hope that you will decide quickly. The number of participants will be limited to ensure that everyone will benefit from the writing sessions; therefore we suggest you send in your deposit as soon as possible to reserve your space.

So many of us have stories we want to share and don't know how to get started or where to go once we've begun. This workshop will help you through the process and inspire you to get to the finish line, as well as give you the chance for a face-to-face with an amazing literary talent!

So, don't delay. Make your reservations today!

Bernice McFadden

The purpose of this class by author Bernice McFadden is to encourage students to cultivate a consistent and authentic writing life by relieving themselves of manufactured ideas about writing along with rigid rules. This class will help students explore their interior terrain and discover what they really have to say. The idea is to initiate personal writing goals that advance connection with your intuition and spiritual sensitivities.
